Mission Impossible III

Been there, done that!

Why on earth is everybody trashing this film?
Not ecxiting enough?, I thought it was an action packed, sit on the edge of your chair and spill your popcorn kinda film!
Tom cruise does a great Ethan Hunt and Ving Rhames as Luther is absolutely fantastic. I'd even go so far as to give it an 8!
Not that anybody agrees with me ofcourse.

Courage

Courage: "an ability to control fear when facing danger or pain"

When at work, or with friends and especially when it's just me with my
"inner self", I find a lot comes down to courage.
A lot of the things I say or don't say, things I do or don't do come down to how courageous I'm feeling at that moment.
I can have moments of tremendous courage when I feel like the world is mine. Life is great and I can handle anything and everything in it, but at other moments all the courage just seems to slowly seep away. I find myself thinking life is actually a lot harder, a lot more scary than I could ever have imagined.
These moments I call my scary ones.



So, just a wee bit behind schedule, the quote of the week. Lets hear what you've got to say about it?!
I've found two quotes which I find appropriate for this week. Both seem true enough, but reading them gives me a feeling of being Ill at ease. Like I know that's how you should live your life, but at the same time it scares me, it seems impossibly hard to do.
Maybe tonight is just one of my scary moments. :)

- To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself.

How to Have Courage:
In ordinary life, we tend to live in our own little area of comfort. This is called our "comfort zone." Every day, we should take a step outside our limits, exploring more life. Healthy challenges help us to build courage and strength!

Steps:
- Every day, do one little thing outside your comfort zone.
- Walk before you run.
- Believe in yourself.
- Stay positive.
- Find friends and family that believe in you, too.
- Have goals to reach, and go for them!
- When you have to do something frightening, change your view - think of it as a duty that you have to do, and DO NOT question that. It's much easier to be scared when you don't HAVE to do that frightening task.
- If, say, you're doing something that requires a "sudden plunge" e.g. picking up a spider if you hate spiders, or jumping from a ledge if you hate heights, DO NOT do a countdown. That only makes it worse. Instead, simply hold your breath, stuff all, and GO FOR IT.

One last piece of inspiration to round up vote for the quote for this week:
- Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow.

A bit less scary and a lot more positive.
